About Shallweblog

Welcome to ‘Shall We Blog’ site.

Our site has been created to achieve the following objectives. Mainly,

1. To bring readers an awareness on Burmese or Myanmar cultural and its cuisine through Susan Chan’s already published Burmese cookbook - Flavors of Burma (Myanmar) - Cuisine and Culture from the Land of Golden Pagodas.

2. To provide an opportunity for us to create and share blogs based on our personal and professional experiences that may bring interests and benefits to the readers

3. To seek readers, editors, writers who voluntarily provide review, advice and constructive feedback to our draft novels, books, blogs, etc via our own online book club

4. To provide an opportunity for any publishers to locate and have an interest in our books

Above all these objectives, the most important thing to us is that we have a passion to write and share with others. Even if we may not be able to blog everyday, we sure will blog regularly. So please read on.

Why do we call our site ‘Shall We Blog’?

Back in 2003, we had a website to promote Susan’s newly published Burmese cookbook. However, its purpose at that time was limited. Nothing much was done to update it and eventually we closed it off.

In early 2008, we wanted to create a new website for our draft novels and books. The aim is to provide those of ‘Shall We Blog’s objectives from number 2 to 4 in an open source environment.

Due to other commitments and priorities in our lives, this idea was again postponed…

Then in early September 2008, we read a few popular blogs such as on writing blog novels and blogging successes. After we read some articles, we felt compelled to create our own blog to achieve our objectives. As we discussed each night for a couple of weeks, our conversation always ended by asking each other with a question - ‘Shall We Blog?’

As our usual practice, we wrote down our objectives and felt that it was a good time and opportunity to start blogging! It was not difficult to name our site as ‘Shall We Blog’ as we have a story to tell!
